Kitchen Tilda

So .... I told you I'd be back ....

This seems to be my MO - get nothing done and then all of a sudden I can't get enough finished and posted lol.

I am sooo in love with Magnolia stamps and have done much practicing with them but could never get the effect that I see on so many beautiful creations in blog land, but last night it all seemed to just come together.  Maybe because I picked the stamp and then the papers to match the stamp and then coloured rather than colour and then try to find paper to match!!  It also helped that there were some great challenges I found to fit the colour/theme I was wanting to use, like the ones at Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge - "My Favourite Things, The Shabby Tea Room "Classic Patterns & Photo Inspiration" , A Spoonfull Of Sugar - "Ribbon & Bows" and I used a sketch from Sketch Saturday (that I flipped to suit my design).

So, I used the Yummy For Your Tummy Kitchen Tilda stamp and matched it with Websters Pages & Basic Grey PP which reflected that homely cooking feeling I was tring to create and then just created with (some of) "My Favourite Things" - Cooking, Magnolia, PP, green/cream/red colour combo, lace, buttons, anything scalloped and colouring with Prisma and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out .... My only issue is that I didn't use any flowers (which is soooo unlike me lol) because it didn't fit in with what I was trying to create.

I hope you like it .... My hubby told me that he "thinks the card's great but now it's up to the people that matter" lol.

So that's it from me for now .... I'm off to Officeworks to replace a wheel on my new office chair coz it keeps coming off .....

Ciao & see you soon
Julie

Finally Back .... Tatty Teddy

Hello all and it's sooo good to be finally back with a finished card .... I've been colouring lots but just can't seem to get it all together into a finished card ... Until now that is lol ...

So, I was one of the local Scrapbook Shops, Scrap Needs, last week and the lady told me about a magazine called (docrafts) Creativity that was offering a freebie stamp and small embossing folder with it's purchase and of course me being me I couldn't resist!!  Am I sooo glad that I got it .... this little bear called "Tatty Teddy" is absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't wait to colour him in.  I haven't coloured animals as yet and thought he might be a good place to start because there's not really much you can do except add some highlights and shadowing ..... So I stamped him up in pink, brown and green and I was inspired by the pink image to do a girly girl card and this was the end result.

I've left the card relatively simple because he's so dainty and pink .... I had an easel card that I had made and never used and I've coloured with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and solvent and then added some flowers from Wild Orchid and a few other bits and pieces.

Anyway, I hope you like my lateset effort and I hope that I manage to get a few more cards done and posted ...
Ciao for now,
Julie
